Privacy Policy
Digital Research · Last updated: 7 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Digital Research ("Digital Research", "the application", "we" or "us") handles information when an authorised user uses the application or connects a third-party service, including Google services.
1. Information we may access
Digital Research may access information made available by a connected service only after an authorised user grants the relevant permissions. Depending on the service and the permissions granted, this may include:
- basic account and service identifiers;
- information and metrics made available through authorised Google APIs;
- Google Ads account information and related data made available by the Google Ads API when access is authorised; and
- research or project information submitted directly by the user.
Digital Research does not access Google data without user authorisation and does not request access beyond the permissions needed for the application's features.
2. How information is used
Information accessed through connected services is used only to provide Digital Research's functionality. This includes organising information, analysing available data, generating research outputs and supporting digital project decisions.
Google user data is not used for personalised advertising, credit decisions, surveillance or any unrelated purpose.
3. Google OAuth and permissions
When Google access is required, Digital Research uses Google's OAuth authorisation process. The user is shown the permissions being requested and chooses whether to grant them. Access can be revoked at any time through the user's Google Account security settings.
4. Data storage
Digital Research may store application data, research outputs and authorisation credentials or tokens where necessary to maintain an authorised connection and provide the requested functionality. Access credentials are treated as confidential and are not intentionally exposed to unauthorised parties.
5. Data sharing and disclosure
Digital Research does not sell Google user data. Information is not shared with third parties for advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.
Information may be processed by infrastructure or service providers that are necessary to operate the application, subject to appropriate security and confidentiality requirements. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law.
6. Data retention and deletion
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the application's functionality, maintain authorised connections, protect the service and meet applicable legal requirements.
Users can revoke Google's access to Digital Research through their Google Account permissions. When access is revoked, the application will no longer be able to retrieve new information through that authorisation. Data that is no longer necessary for the application may be deleted from the systems under our control.
7. Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect application data and authorisation credentials against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or misuse. No online system can guarantee absolute security, but access is limited to what is necessary for operation of the application.
8. Google API Services User Data Policy
Digital Research's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements where applicable.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the application's functionality, connected services or data-handling practices change. The current version will remain available on this page.
10. Contact
Questions or requests concerning privacy can be sent using the support contact associated with Digital Research's Google OAuth consent screen.
